These little berries sure do pack a punch! Blueberries are considered a mighty superfood. They are full of antioxidants whilst also being high in potassium and vitamin C, making them a top food choice from doctors and nutritionists. There are claims that blueberries can in fact fight against heart disease, cancer and prevent memory loss! They are a mighty BRAINFOOD!

It is believed that the darker they are, the more antioxidants are contained in each little blueberry. They contain lots of nutrients and are low in calories, making them one of the best options to include into your daily five portions of fruit and vegetables. ½ cup of blueberries is recommended daily, and for an extra twist, pop them in the freezer to enjoy them as a frozen treat!

Blueberry Mango Energy Smoothie:

INGREDIENTS


  • • 1 package Driscoll's Blueberries
  • • 1 cups frozen mango chunks
  • • 2/3 cups orange juice
  • • 2 tablespoons wheat germ
  • • Ice

METHOD

Place blueberries, mango chunks, orange juice and wheat germ in a blender and blend until fruit is pureed. Add 3 to 4 ice cubes and blend until smooth.
Serve cold and enjoy!!
