Paleo diet also known as Primal or the Stone
Age diet has received substantial media attention in Australia recently. This isn’t
just a diet; it’s a rising lifestyle trend, which promotes the way of life of
Cavemen.
This lifestyle, being adopted by celebrity
followers and gym goers, involves people primarily eating vegetables, fruit,
nuts, insects, roots and meat – which vary depending on season and
availability.

The macronutrients in this diet consist to
be higher in protein, lower in fat but include more fatty acids – with low
sodium and high fibre. This leaves carbohydrates to be low, however can vary as
they come from different food sources and consumption levels vary.
